Stunning Details, Thin Skirt
Two collectors agree the 25th-anniversary Mulan looks far better in person than stock photos suggest: the embroidery and rhinestone accents are rich, the color story (pink with deep blue and gold) is cohesive, the sash/“obi” build and tassel/bead cluster are intricate, and the sword sculpt/paint reads premium. Hair is notably soft with understated rooted lashes, the flowing shawl is neatly hemmed, and the hidden shoe sculpt and full articulation (including ankles) are nice surprises. Packaging has tasteful cherry-blossom motifs and a shrine backdrop; COA numbers cited were within a relatively small 4,512 run at a $149.99 retail. Where they diverge: one reviewer praises the face as calm and possibly a new mold, while the other flags reused sculpt cues (raised/furrowed brow ridges) that give Mulan a slightly odd expression. The hair comb is plastic and tied in place; functionality is questionable if untied. Biggest shared weak point is the lower skirt: one calls it a very thin satin that wrinkles, frays, and relies on tissue for volume (suggesting a petticoat or fabric swap), while the other defends the movie-accurate simplicity enhanced by heavy embroidery elsewhere. Net-net: a display-worthy piece with top-half luxury and some cost-cut corners below the waist.
