Galaxy XR review: Better value mixed reality with smart AI
Samsung’s Galaxy XR feels like a confident and more open take on premium mixed reality at a far more palatable price. The micro OLED visuals look crisp and smooth and the headset is noticeably lighter and more comfortable than Apple’s alternative. Android XR with Gemini gives it a clear identity as well, layering useful AI help into YouTube, Maps and everyday browsing, and there is a proper Netflix app alongside Google services. Early demos suggest reliable eye and hand tracking with the option to add controllers if you prefer. There are caveats. Battery life of about two hours means longer sessions will need a cable, the plastic build lacks some premium polish, and we still need to see how deep the app library really goes beyond the demos. Gemini can be brilliant but not infallible, so the wow factor may vary by task. Even so, for people who want a comfortable headset for films, browsing and light productivity with strong Google integration, this looks like the better value play at roughly half the price of its main rival. title: Galaxy XR review: Better value mixed reality with smart AI
